Kunststofharingen zijn geschikt voor zowel voor zowel zachte- als harde grond Op versteende bodem en op rotsgrond is hij echter niet geschikt Een andere mogelijkheid is een kunststof tentharing van ABS (Acrylonitril-Butadieën-Styreen) De slagvastheid en taaiheid van dit materiaal ligt een stuk hoger dan bij hard-polyetheen het geval is Hierdoor staat hij ookop versteende bodem zijn mannetje maar op rotsgrond schiet ook dit materiaal tekort
