Thomas en zijn vriendjes brengen je weer wagonladingen vol plezier met dit gezellige, splinternieuwe extra lange avontuur! Op Sodor is er altijd veel te doen, maar wanneer de locomotiefjes nuttig willen zijn belanden ze vaak in rommelige situaties. Zo probeert James te bewijzen dat hij niet bang is voor het donker en niet te ijdel is om stinkende vis te vervoeren, maar wanneer hij nachtdienst heeft wordt het hem allemaal een beetje teveel. Zouden zijn vriendjes hem kunnen helpen? Steven en Salty hebben ook nog veel te leren; als ze proberen de snelste en beste te zijn, wordt het een kleverige toestand. Hiro laat Diesel zien dat het soms echt de moeite waard is om aardig te zijn tegen de lastige wagons... maar die maken het er met hun slechte gedrag niet makkelijk op!
