AgfaPhoto APX 400 Professional is een 35mm zwart-wit negatief film met een middelhoge filmsnelheid waarvan de emulsie een laatste update kreeg in 2013 en daardoor ook wel NEW APX wordt genoemd. De film heeft een nominale filmsnelheid van ISO 400/°27 maar kan gepushed worden tot en met ISO 1600/33° wanneer nodig. De film is daarom flexibel in gebruik en is geschikt voor een verscheidenheid aan lichtomstandigheden. De specifieke eigenschappen van APX 400 maken deze film ideaal voor het fotograferen in weinig licht of voor het fotograferen van snel bewegende objecten.Wanneer de film ontwikkeld wordt in zwart-wit fotochemie met de standaard opgegeven ontwikkeltijden, zal de film in het algemeen een fijne korrelstructuur, een hoge resolutie en breed grijstoonbereik opleveren.
