Reflectie & Governance is de zoektocht naar het andere gedrag bij bestuurders en toezichthouders in semipublieke organisaties, zoals woningcorporaties, zorgorganisaties en onderwijs. Semipubliek betekent dat je dicht bij de maatschappij staat en het boek begint dan ook de veranderingen in onze maatschappij te beschrijven. De Nederlander is het maatschappelijk houvast kwijt en dat resulteert in wantrouwen naar de leiders in de samenleving. De samenleving is oprecht verontwaardigd over de affaires in het onderwijs, de zorg en de corporaties. De overheid heeft nog geen passend leiderschap gevonden en Stubbé beschrijft de zoektocht voor ander gedrag bij semipublieke organisaties. Het boek geeft een paar voorbeelden hoe leiders in het verleden omgingen met maatschappelijke onrust. De focus ligt bij ander gedrag van bestuurders en toezichthouders. Reflectie (en feedback) zijn de kernwoorden voor veranderingen volgens Stubbé. Stubbé trekt een rode draad door diverse recente rapporten en boeken en voegt hier handvatten aan toe om direct te beginnen aan constante reflectie en zelfevaluatie.
