Het kleine detectivebureau Ronson Inc., dat kantoor houdt in het ongure mijnstadje Dalbart, deinst voor geen opdracht terug. Vooral niet als het daarmee het gerenommeerde bureau Pinkerton kan dwarszitten. Ergens zit namelijk kwaad bloed, en dat bloed vloeit in overvloed wanneer de Pinkerton agenten van geen wijken weten. Gelukkig beschikt Ronson Inc. over een handvol kleurrijke medewerkers die eigenlijk geen haar beter zijn dan het tuig waarop ze jagen, al was het alleen al om de Pinkerton agenten het leven onmogelijk te maken.
