Ondanks een door trauma's gedomineerde jeugd in een Arnhemse volkswijk kon Andy van der Meijde (1979) bij Ajax uitgroeien tot de beste rechtsbuiten van zijn generatie. Met het bereiken van de Europese elite bij Internazionale in Milaan begon tevens zijn reis langs de toppen der waanzin. Hij ging miljoenen verdienen én uitgeven. Zijn naÃ¯eve inborst en hang naar spektakel maakten van zijn leven een symfonie met ontelbaar veel mooie, treurige, valse en bizarre noten. Op zijn dertigste raakte hij als speler van Everton ook nog verslaafd. Inmiddels is de zeventienvoudig international weer een gewone burger. Hij is gelukkig en heeft een bijzonder aangrijpend verhaal te vertellen. Nooit was een Nederlandse profvoetballer zo openhartig. Dit is de mid-price versie van de eerder uitgegeven standaard versie.
