De Argentijnen voelen zich Europeanen in ballingschap,Â¿ zei hun grote schrijver Jorge Luis Borges ooit. Daarom is Buenos Aires misschien wel de meest a-typische stad van Latijns-Amerika. De hoofdstad met haar bewoners die zich vele malen belangrijker voelen dan het immense grote pampaland dat achter hen ligt. De stad waar MÃ¡xima werd geboren en opgroeide is een vat vol tegenstellingen. Sloppenwijken vol bittere armoede tegenover de meest luxueuze winkelcentra. De niet afhoudende worsteling met de erfenis van de militaire dictatuur. De slagschaduw van Peron die nog steeds het politieke toneel weet te beÃ¯nvloeden en te verlammen. De golfbewegingen van de economische crises die het land met grote regelmaat treffen. Verhalen uit Buenos Aires, de stad die er maar niet in slaagt te worden wat het zo graag zou willen zijn.
