Bodyham

In de zomer van 1483 verdwijnen twee jonge prinsen, zonen van Edward IV, op onverklaarbare wijze uit de Tower. Niemand weet wat hen overkomen is. Begin november van dat jaar, tijdens het beleg van Bodyham, dreigt zich in het Kasteel van Bodyham een soortgelijke verdwijning voor te doen. Angus Briar, die zich in opdracht van koning Richard III in het belegerde kasteel bevindt, wil er alles aan doen dit te voorkomen. Voordien leiden enkele raadselachtige voorvallen, waaronder een dodelijk ongeluk en een mysterieuze moord, de aandacht af van pogingen om de in Bodyham verborgen staatskas te roven. Niet zonder gevaar gaat Angus, geholpen door de jonge kasteelknecht Jesse, op onderzoek uit en komt daarbij zelf onder verdenking. Eenmaal opgesloten is Angus, meer nog dan voorheen, afhankelijk van de hulp van Jesse. Tijdens het beleg wordt duidelijk wat er met de prinsen gebeurd is, maar het gevaar is daarmee niet geweken.
