Parels van Zeeland

In Parels van Zeeland staan vijftien mensen centraal die Zeeland als nieuw thuisland hebben gekozen. Ze delen hun tradities, meegenomen uit hun geboorteland. Maar ze vertellen ook over Nederlandse gewoonten die ze graag navolgen. Tekstschrijver Joyce Muilenburg heeft deze mensen op verrassende wijze geÃ¯nterviewd. Fotograaf Mieke Wijnen zorgde voor inspirerende foto's. Bij elk interview staat een origineel recept uit het land van herkomst. Initiator Ingrid Brilleman mag niet ongenoemd blijven, zonder haar was dit boek er niet gekomen. Nederlandse verjaardagen spreken Lita aan om snel contact te leggen met mensen uit de buurt en het is helemaal geen belasting: Nederlanders zijn al blij met koffie en gebak, meer hoeven ze niet en ze blijven niet lang. In Afrika duurt een feest een hele dag. Soms zelfs langer. En dan vooral met veel eten en drinken.

But nowadays fashion is not such unavailable as it was a couple of centuries ago. We are lucky to have an opportunity to buy qualitative, fashionable and affordable clothes.
