Ontroerende verhalen over opvoeden en loslaten van (pleeg-)kinderen. Auteur Gerda is al jaren pleegmoeder in hart en nieren. In de loop der jaren heeft zij samen met Piet, haar man, veel kinderen een thuis in haar gezin gegeven. Een liefdevol vasthouden en dan weer loslaten. Elk kind was anders en bracht zijn eigen karakter en eigenschappen en kwetsbaarheid mee. De columns van Gerda ontroeren door haar eerlijkheid en kwetsbaarheid.
