Ons Moeder De prinses van Walem Toen mijn moeder pas overleden was mochten we haar door Corona niet begraven zoals zij zou gewild hebben. Ze was zo populair in ons geboortedorp Walem dat er in de kerk zeker plaats te kort zou geweest. Wij, mijn zus en ik besloten met de begrafenis te wachten tot Covid voorbij was. Daar Corona na een tijdje alleen maar erger werd hebben we na lang twijfelen en afwachten haar toch moeten begraven met het "Maximum 20 personen toegelaten" concept. Tijdens dat wachten besloot ik en ook op vraag van mijn zus zaliger een pamfletje met enkele woorden van troost te schrijven dat we aan alle mensen die onze moeder in het hart droegen en niet aanwezig mochten zijn op haar uitvaart als extra bovenop de doodsbrief zouden bezorgen. Eenmaal aan het schrijven, kwam ik bij haar verhalen over vroeger terecht en het pamfletje is een, volgens mij althans, een humoristisch boekje geworden. Dat ons moeder niet de eerste de beste was zal u al lezend wel bemerken.
