Peter d'Hamecourt (1946) begon zijn journalistieke carri in 1966.De journalistieke voerde hem over de hele wereld, maar sinds 1989 vestigde hij zich Moskou. Hij leidt daar een bureau dat journalistieke andere de NOS-televisie en -radio, Twee Vandaag, Nova, Algemeen Dagblad en VRT-televisie en -radio.Zijn werkterrein beslaat de hele, voormalige Sovjet-Unie en brengt hem soms daarbuiten. zoals AfghanistanMoskou was, is en blijft het centrum van een wereldrijk. Moskou is er voor Moskovieten, bezoekers worden slechts geduld. Moskou is groots, meeslepend, extravagant en een van de duurste steden ter wereld. Moskou vestigt het ene na het andere kapitalistische record en kent de enige stadsdictatuur ter wereld. Moskou pronkt met zijn architectonische verleden, maar gaat er ook slordig mee om. Moskou is wat het is: onvriendelijk, robuust, maar verbergt voor wie op onderzoek uitgaat achter die fa e een gloed van warmte. Moskou is het Kremlin met een stad als aanhangsel. Moskou is een gokparadijs dat Las Vegas naar de kroon steekt. Moskou is een reservaat van een haastig nerveus leven, een gekkenhuis.
