VERBLIND DOOR UNIVERSALISME Na de overwinning van het liberalisme in 1989 veranderde de wereld in één open ruimte. Mensen die zich niet thuis voelden in deze nieuwe omgeving zagen in de ontwikkelingen een door een progressieve elite georganiseerde chaos. Deze mensen hadden behoefte aan een Structuur die hen kon beschermen en verdedigen en waarbinnen ze hun vrijheid konden beleven. Sommigen grepen terug naar oude taxonomieën waarin racisme en oude religieuze categorieën de hoofdrol speelden. Rigide definities van goed en kwaad; concepten als schuld en boete en blinde onderwerping aan goddelijke geboden; het belang van het traditioneel gezin en de patriarchale as. Al deze concepten uit het verleden werden opgeblonken als reactie op de universalistische filosofie. In dit essay verdedigen we de natiestaat als een modern alternatief voor de universalistische filosofie en voor de reactionaire vlucht naar oude oplossingen.
