Van fan tot fanclub

In 1974 werd de Britse glamrock band the Rubettes in één klap wereldberoemd met het nummer Sugar Baby Love. De schrijfster van dit boek was in die tijd een groot fan van deze band. Achtentwintig jaar later ziet ze the Rubettes voor het eerst live optreden en besluit ze een fanclub voor deze band op te richten. Dit boek begint in 1974 waarin ze met haar vriendin foto's en informatie over de bandleden verzamelde om een eigen plakboek te maken. Daarna verteld ze hoe de fanclub tot stand is gekomen en de hechte band die ze met de bandleden heeft opgebouwd. Het hoogtepunt uit deze periode is de theater tour die the Rubettes eind 2004 door Nederland hebben gemaakt. Lucienne is twee weken lang met the Rubettes mee geweest om tijdens deze tour de merchandise voor de band te verkopen. Dit boek bevat onder andere de concertverslagen welke destijds op de website gepubliceerd zijn, aangevuld met extra anekdotes. Het zijn on-stage en back-stage verhalen van en over de band waarbij de privacy van de bandleden gerespecteerd wordt.
